today i have spent most of my time designing and working on some custom paper printables for a baby shower that i’m helping with, but i wanted to take a little break to make a few st. patty’s day printables for all of my awesome readers!

the circles (approx. 1.5 inches) can be used as cupcake toppers with sticks, envelope seals or even stickers! and the cute little flags are fun way to dress up your straws for that st. patty’s day party! if you’re into that kind of thing.

these guys fit on a standard 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper, and you can print them on basic cardstock, regular ol’ copy paper or a full sheet of adhesive paper for stickers!

TIP: for faster cutting, purchase a large enough circle punch!

if you decide to make these little guys a part of your st. patty’s day soiree, i do have one small request….

please share my link with your friends and maybe a picture or two!  i’d love to see how you used them!

you can tweet, pin, facebook or post about it on your own blog if you’d like!

happy day everyone!

5 friday favorites.

February 10, 2012

sorry it’s a little late, but here they are!

1. the hunger games –i know i’m a little late in jumping on this band-wagon of obsession, but i just finished the first book of the trilogy last night, and i’m   d y i n g  to read the others! if you haven’t read it, do it. NOW. please.

2. tall socks with boots — a small way to add a little pop of fun to your winter weather wardrobe. you can wear them over tights or your skinny jeans. i like colored and cute printed socks that peek out to say “hello!”

3. geometric prints — the other day i went to find fabric for some new pillows that i’m going to attempt to make. wish me luck. at hancock fabrics, i stumbled upon this print. i just love the simplicity and repetition in geometric patterns. maybe it’s the mathematical brain in me. stay tuned for a post on the attempt in pillow-making!

4. stella & dot jewelry — last night as i was rushing to find out the end of the hunger games, it caused me to run a little late for a friend’s stella & dot trunk show. oops. anyway, i’d never been to one before and didn’t really know what type of things they carried, but all of their jewelry is adorable! in hundreds of styles & colors, you can find great necklaces & bracelets, earrings & rings and even their own line of bags, too! i didn’t purchase anything, but i did leave with a couple of things on my wishlist! hint hint, hubby!

5. emily henderson — okay, i’ll admit it. after stating this, i will have labeled myself as a definitenot desperate–housewife. but i don’t care. i’m proud of it. anyway, when we aren’t trying to stay up to date with the latest tv shows, the main two channels that i turn to as my midday tv staples are the FOOD network and HGTV. compared to all that other sappy daytime tv, you can never go wrong with one of these. except when paula deen is on. she annoys me for some reason. anyway, i must confess that i LOVE emily henderson! not only is she adorable, but the approach to her show secrets of a stylist is fun and personal. i enjoy the way she combines her clients’ styles and needs into the perfect harmony of design and function. and she gives great tips, too.

a random 5 friday favorites at it’s best!

happy weekend everyone!

as the day o’ love draws ever-so-near, i thought i’d spread the love and create a few simple valentine’s day cards for you to enjoy!

you can simply print these on a basic card stock (or glossy card stock for a nicer finish) right from your home computer!

print, cut & enjoy.

fonts are from kevin&amanda.

cards created in photoshop.

these cards are about the size of a 3×5 index card, so if you wanna drop ‘em in the mail as a postcard to your special someone, fine by me!

if you decide to use them, i’d love to know how they turn out for you! and who knows, i might even start posting more of these free printables in the future!

happy valentine’s day folks, a few days early.

now go spread the love!

okay, maybe not a lifetime, but a darn good while to say the least.

i’m always looking for a way to save money to help cut down on our overall spending each month, without going extreme-couponing-crazy insane.

i commend those who take the time to do this, but i am not one of them, and don’t plan to be.

i just don’t have the patience.

or the time.

or the room for a ridiculous stock pile.

or the patience.

anyway, yesterday i tried my hand at one of my first pinterest diy projects: make your own dry laundry soap.

it looked simple enough, and after reading through all the comments and reviews, i decided to give it a go for myself.

for around $20 you can have some laundry soap that will last you forrrr-evv-errrr. <—-wait…. haven’t i already used that? yup, i just love that movie. so, here it is again.

all you need are a few simple ingredients to get you started.

1 bar of this.
